  1. Rode this as well as a couple of the other North Yorks Moors routes over 3 days in early Sept 2020. From just reading the introduction to the book I knew I’d found someone with the same cycle route mindset to me. I enjoy planning but to have a nice route off the shelf is great sometimes too.

  2. Jim Simpson

We rode most of this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery is magnificent, from gorse and moorland through to sea cliffs and quiet villages. Hardly any traffic and some challenging hills. Make sure you take some snacks though, as not much was open.

  3. Rode this yesterday (25th January) and I loved the route – the variety of surface and views especially. Completed it on a hard tail MTB and found I needed the 50mm tyres as every non road surface was very sticky after snow thaws.
I parked at Whitby Abbey ( free until March 1st)
Only one error in my navigation at 38km (972933) take the road not the fire track which is adjacent to it down to Surgate Brow Farm.

Route was challenging and took about 6 hours in total – great ride and I will do again in the Summer
