  1. Did this route yesterday (August bank holiday weekend). Really lovely cycle out of Hebden Bridge along the canal path (although be prepared to stopping and starting due to pebbled drainage outlets from the canal). Lovely although fairly challenging uphill from Littleborough, but afterwards a very pleasant and quiet meander around the countryside. We stayed overnight at the Old Chamber campsite which has lovely views over Hebden Bridge (and I’m also told that it does great breakfast options on Sunday morning). Warm showers and fridge/washing facilities. £10/night.

My first one of the lost lanes rides. What a great route off the main roads. The climbs a nice steady one and helped with the wind behind my back today. After you coast down hill a bit you pull up slightly and there’s a great farm shop called Craggies with a cafe. I’ve not got the book to hand so apologies if that’s already in there.

Looking forward to taking on the next 29. I’ve already bought the wales edition too.

  3. My first outing based on LLN route. Did in reverse starting at Littleborough (mostly as train ticket to Hebden Bridge was £13 extra as outside TfGM travel zone).
Thoroughly enjoyed it, canal towpaths relatively quiet until get close to Hebden Bridge. Detour to reservoirs & stanza stone well worth it. Looking forward to the next LLN outing!

PS GPX file gives a route wholly on roads. Canal towpaths between Littleborough & Mytholmroyd are on the whole well surfaced & IMO ridable on pretty much any bike. So recommend making this tweak to the published route.
