  1. Can I use the gpx file for this route but start the route at Langport then follow anti clockwise from there? If so how do I do this to set the gpx route accordingly?

    Thanks

    1. You should be able to do that, Ian, depending on what device you’re using to navigate. I use a Wahoo GPS device and it has a ‘reverse route’ option, I am sure Garmin devices will have that too. To edit GPX files, I recommend the RideWithGPS website, it’s free to use. Hope that helps.

  2. Lovely route. Adapted it to start from Henton, west of Wells, where we were staying. Somerton was a beautiful spot to stop for coffee – felt like we were in France in the Market Place. Loved the section from Montacute to Sherborne with amazing views to the south. And Sherborne was a stunning place to stop for lunch.

Another lovely cycle, I would expect nothing less from a Lost Lanes route. I did this to celebrate my birthday at the end of March so the weather was dry(ish) but some of the rural roads were pretty pot-holed after the winter. Nothing too major but you had to keep your wits about you.

As others have, I amended the route and started just off the A303 and parked (for free) at Cadbury Castle car park. I did do it on a Friday so not sure how busy it would be at a weekend. The route from Sherborne up to South Cadbury is really stunning. Already looking forward to my next one this weekend, the Isle of Wight route (this will be my 3rd time following it!).
