I rode this today, good weather, dry roads, dry trails after a few sunny days. I rode it on a Specialized V-braked tourer with 35mm road biased tyres. I would agree that it’s moderate to challenging, not because of the terrain, which was easy, but because of the hills, which were not! There’s an 18% hill signposted at one section. Brilliant scenery, and Shropshire is my favourite place to ride, so it was a hard but very enjoyable ride. It wasn’t a race, or a Strava challenge, and I had to stop a few times to admire the stunning views. And coffee and a bacon butty at The Tea Emporium in Ironbridge. I might ride it again next week with my other half. GPX was spot on accurate.
I’ve just received my copy of this book and I’m looking forward to riding this route.
One quick comment about cafés in Ironbridge which may be important for vegetarians. The Green Wood Café has now shut down but good vegetarian food can be found at The Tile Press at Maw’s Gallery in Jackfield.
