  1. Did this ride on the 5th October 2018 – a beautiful sunny day. To be honest, I found it more challenging than moderate, as we managed 1087m of elevation rather than 735m somehow. We stayed at Twelve Oaks farm holiday park which is very close to OSM cycle route 28 and that made it easy to join the Widecombe Way route just south of Bovey Tracey without going on busy roads. Had a great lunch (fish and chips and a very nice pint) at the recommended Rugglestone Inn. Loved the Bronze Age settlement at Grimspound – it was nice to sit down again after a bit of a climb! There were lots of lovely views over Dartmoor and pretty villages to go through. Really enjoyed the ride.

    1. Hi Pete, have you tried just clicking through on the GPX link? Then ‘save’ the webpage that follows onto your desktop. Any good? Jack

  2. Great route, some proper little kicks on the smaller lanes, not as challenging as similar lanes in Cornwall. Copper Kettle was delightful, but the Ring of Bells. was a bum steer. Limited menu. We paid £8 for a tiny bowl of nondescript soup and burnt toast which tasted of lighter fuel.
